MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Dextromethorphan suppresses cough by central action on cough center in medulla. Bromhexine Hydrochloride is a mucolytic agent, which liquifies thick, tenacious sputum. Viscosity of sputum is reduced by dissolving mucopolysaccharide fibers. It also improves mucociliary clearance of secretions. Chlorpheniramine competitively antagonizes histamine at H1 receptor sites.
 
 
INDICATIONS:
It is used in the treatment of respiratory diseases associated with viscid or excessive mucus and restores the physiological clearance mechanisms of the respiratory tract, which play an important role in the body's natural defence mechanisms.
 
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the product.
 
PRECAUTIONS:
Shake well before use. Avoid over medication.
May cause drowsiness in and occasional patient, so sedative materials like alcohol should be avoided.
 
DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Hypersensitivity crisis in patients receiving MAOIs and drugs like amiodarone, fluoxetine, haloperidol affects the metabolism. It enhances the effects of sedatives like alcohol, barbiturates, hypnotics and opioid analgesics.
 
SIDE-EFFECTS:
Dizziness, dry mouth, G.I disturbances may occur. Excitation, confusion and respiratory depression may occur after overdose.
 
DOSAGE:
As directed by the physician.
 
STORAGE:
Store at temperature below 25oC out of reach of children.
Do not freeze.
