DESCRIPTION:
A multiple combination cream which exhibits anti-bacterial, anti-protozoal, anti-fungal and steroid properties to control inflammation. Itraconazole is an antifungal and antiparasitic drug. Ofloxacin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that acts against many gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Ornidazole belongs to the nitroimidazole group of antibiotics and is used to treat amoeba and trichomonas infections. Clobetasol is a potent corticosteroid which exhibits anti-inflammatory, anti-pruritic and vasoconstrictive properties.

MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Itraconazole interacts with 14-α demethylase, a cytochrome P-450 enzyme necessary to convert lanosterol to ergosterol. As ergosterol is an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, inhibition of its synthesis results in increased cellular permeability causing leakage of cellular contents. Ofloxacin inhibits the DNA gyrase enzyme which is responsible for the supercoiling properties of DNA in bacterial cell. Ofloxacin and ornidazole kills the bacteria that infect inflamed skin, reduces inflammation and relieves itching. Clobetasol propionate controls the biosynthesis of potent mediators of inflammation such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes by inhibiting the release of their common precursor arachidonic acid.

INDICATIONS:
The treatment of ring worm, intertrigo, infection of toes & fingers and eczema. Indicated for the relief of the inflammatory, fungal, bacterial and protozoal responsive dermatoses.
