NEW DICLOMAC-MR TABLETS

DESCRIPTION:

NEW DICLOMAC-MRis a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and used to treat muscle spasms, pain.

Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat mild-to-moderate pain, and helps to relieve symptoms of arthritis (eg, osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis), such as inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and joint pain.

Chlorzoxazone is used to treat muscle spasms/pain. It is usually used along with rest, physical therapy, and other treatment. It works by helping to relax the muscles.

MECHANISM OF ACTION:

Diclofenac inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 and -2, the enzymes responsible for production of prostaglandin (PG) G₂ which is the precursor to other PGs.These molecules have broad activity in pain and inflammation and the inhibition of their production is the common mechanism linking each effect of diclofenac.

INDICATION:

Diclofenac is indicated for use in the treatment of pain and inflammation from varying sources including inflammatory conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and spondylitis.

CONTRAINDICATIONS: Hypersensitivity to diclofenac, history of aspirin triad, treatment of perioperative pain associated with CABG; active gastrointestinal bleeding

SIDE-EFFECTS:Abdominal distention, Gas, Abdominal pain or cramps

Constipation, Diarrhea, Dizziness.

DOSAGE:As directed by the physician.
