DESCRIPTION:
Iodised Peptone is prepared by enzymatic hydrolysate dipeptide and tripeptide. It contains 22mcg of Iodine in 332mg of Peptone. Iodine increases the storage of the thyroid hormone thyroxine, helping to prevent its release. Peptones are derived from animal milk or meat digested by proteolytic digestion and are used in nutrient media for growing bacteria and fungi. Magnesium chloride is important for many systems in the body, especially the muscles, nerves, heart, and bones. Taking manganese orally in combination with calcium, zinc, and copper helps reduce spinal bone loss. Zinc is vital in the production of T-cells, which help fight infections. It plays a critical role in protein synthesis and carbohydrate metabolism. Pyridoxine hydrochloride is used in the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fat. It plays a vital role in amino acid metabolism, formation of red blood cells and muscle coordination. Cyanocobalamin is used for treating and preventing vitamin B12 deficiency, a condition in which vitamin B12 levels in the blood are too low. Nicotinamide is used for high cholesterol. It is also used along with other treatments for circulation problems, migraine headaches, dizziness, and to reduce the diarrhoea associated with cholera.
INDICATIONS:
Lack of appetite, loss of weight, mental fatigue, growth failure & convalescence.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face /tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.
DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Pyridoxine: Amiodarone, Phenobarbital, Phenytoin
Cyanocobalamin: Chloramphenicol
Nicotinamide: Alcohol, Allopurinol
