MECHANISM OF ACTION: Clarithromycin prevents bacteria from growing by interfering with their protein synthesis. It binds to the subunit 50S of the bacterial ribosome and thus inhibits the translation of peptides. Acne is caused due to blockage and the inflammation of the skin pores or hair follicles. When oil is trapped in the hair follicles, the normal skin bacteria P.acnes will grow in the blocked pore. The bacteria produce chemicals that alter the composition of the oil, which makes it more irritating to the skin and causes inflammation of the skin pore. This results in superficial skin eruptions.
INDICATIONS: Indicated for the treatment of pimples, blackheads, whiteheads and more severe forms of acne.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of this medicine.
SIDE EFFECTS: Skin dryness and possible irritation.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Apply once daily to washed and dried areas for a maximum of 15 minutes initially and increase the exposure gradually.
STORAGE: Store at a temperature below 25℃. Do not freeze. Keep away from children.
