Pharmaceutical Dosage Form: Dry Injection

Route of Administration: Intravenous & Intramuscular

Composition: Each vial contains:

Ceftriaxone Sodium (Sterile) IP Eq. to Anhydrous Ceftriaxone           1000 mg

Sulbactam Sodium (Sterile) IP Eq. to Anhydrous Sulbactam               500mg

Mechanism of Action. Ceftriaxone belongs to the class of medications called third inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis following attachment to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). This results in the interruption of cell wall (peptidoglycan) biosynthesis, which leads to bacterial cell lysis and death. Sulbactam, by irreversibly binding to the beta-lactamases produced by the common gram positive or negative bacteria protects the beta-lactam ring of ceftriaxone, and conserves the bactericidal activity of Ceftriaxone.

Indications: Ceftorque S 1.5 is used to treat UTI, lower respiratory tract infections, bacteraemia, sepsis, meningitis, abdominal infections, infections of the bones, joints, soft tissue, skin and of wounds, renal and urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, particularly pneumonia, and ear, nose and throat infections, and uncomplicated gonorrhea.

Dosage: As directed by the physician.

Storage: Store at temperature not exceeding 250 Protect from sunlight, heat and moisture.

Side effects:

Abnormalities with your white blood cells (such as a decrease of leucocytes and an increase of eosinophils) and platelets (decrease of thrombocytes).

Loose stools

Pruritus

Diarrhea

Nausea

Vomiting

Contraindications: Ceftorque S 1.5 is contraindicated in Patients with known or suspected hypersensitivity to the drug or any of the excipients, during pregnancy and lactation, in patients with severe hepatic failure or renal impairment.

Drug Interactions: Ceftorque S 1.5 can cause drug interaction with following drugs:

Vancomycin

Oral anticogulants

Fluconazole

Interaction with Calcium-containing Products
