Mechanism of Action: Permethrin acts as a neurotoxin, targeting the nervous system of insects. It disrupts the sodium ion channel function in the nervous system of parasites, leading to paralysis and death, making it effective against mites, ticks, and other insects. Cetrimide is a quaternary ammonium compound with antiseptic properties. Cetrimide disrupts microbial cell membranes, exhibiting broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity by altering membrane permeability and inhibiting essential bacterial enzymes.
Indications: Scabimac lotion is commonly indicated for the treatment of scabies, a parasitic infestation caused by the Sarcoptes scabiei mite. The lotion's dual action helps eliminate the mites and provides antiseptic properties to prevent bacterial infections associated with skin infestations.
