Megafin Emulsion

Liquid paraffin is a highly refined mineral oil used in cosmetics and medical purposes. Magnesium hydroxide is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Mg(OH)2. As a suspension in water, it is often called milk of magnesia because of its milk-like appearance.

Each 15 ml contains:

Liquid Paraffin 3.75 ml
Milk of Magnesia I.P. 11.25 ml
Flavoured Base q.s.

Indications

Used as an antacid to provide relief from heartburn, upset stomach and indigestion, as a laxative, and for bowel clearance before radioscopy.

Precautions

Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any ingredient.
Contraindicated in nausea, vomiting or other symptoms of appendicitis.
Do not use in acute abdominal surgery, intestinal obstruction or undiagnosed abdominal pain.
Contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
Use with caution in patients with kidney impairment.
