Mechanism of Action: Pantoprazole is a first-generation proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used for the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Pantoprazole binds irreversibly and specifically to the proton pump, thereby reducing gastric acid secretion. Pantoprazole has a relatively long duration of action compared with other PPIs, and a lower propensity to become activated in slightly acidic body compartments. Indications: Pantotor-40 tablet is used in the treatment of Gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD), Heartburn, Esophageal gastric varices bleeding prophylaxis, Erosive esophagitis, Acid peptic disease and Helicobacter pylori eradication. Pantomac-40 tablet is also effective in treating and preventing NSAID-related gastric and gastroduodenal injury. Dosage: As prescribed by the physician.
