Calcium Gluconate is the calcium salt of gluconic acid, an oxidation product of glucose, and contains 9.3% calcium, which is about one-third of the calcium in the strength of calcium chloride USP. Vitamin B12 has a key role in the normal functioning of the brain and nervous system and in the formation of blood. Folic acid is a form of water-soluble vitamin B9 and is a key factor in the synthesis of nucleic acid (DNA & RNA). It is vital for the production of healthy red blood cells. The use of this compound compared with other iron preparations results in satisfactory reticulocyte responses, a high percentage utilization of iron, and a daily increase in haemoglobin that a normal level occurs in a reasonably short time.
