Tazotorque - P Dry Injection

Description: Tazotorque-P 4.5 is an injectable antibacterial combination product consisting of the semisynthetic antibacterial piperacillin sodium and the β-lactamase inhibitor tazobactam sodium for intravenous administration. It is active against infections caused by gram positive and positive bacteria. Pharmaceutical Dosage Form: Dry Injection Route of Administration: Intravenous & Intramuscular Composition: Each vial contains: Piperacillin Sodium (Sterile) I.P. Eq to Piperacillin                    4000 mg Tazobactam Sodium (Sterile) I.P. Eq to Tazobactam                  500 mg Mechanism of Action: Piperacillin, a broad-spectrum, semisynthetic penicillin exerts bactericidal activity by inhibition of both septum and cell-wall synthesis. Tazobactam, a beta-lactam structurally related to penicillins, is an inhibitor of many beta-lactamases, which commonly cause resistance to penicillins. Tazobactam extends the antibiotic spectrum of piperacillin to include many beta-lactamase-producing bacteria that have acquired resistance to piperacillin alone. Indications: Tazotorque-P 4.5 is used to treat Severe pneumonia including hospital-acquired and ventilator-associated pneumonia, urinary tract infection, intra-abdominal infection, skin and skin tissue infection, management of neutropenic patients with fever suspected to be due to a bacterial infection. Dosage: As directed by the physician. Storage: Store at temperature not exceeding 250 Protect from sunlight, heat and moisture. Presentation: Glass Vial Side effects: Dyspepsia Abdominal pain Constipation Diarrhea Nausea Pruritis Vomiting Contraindications: Tazotorque-P 4.5 is contraindicated in patients with known or suspected hypersensitivity to the drug or any of the excipients, during pregnancy and lactation, in patients with severe hepatic failure or renal impairment. Drug Interactions: Tazotorque-P 4.5 can cause drug interaction with following drugs: Aminoglycosides Probenecid Vancomycin Heparin Oral Anticoagulant Vecuronium Methotrexate
