DESCRIPTION: Ambroxol is a mucolytic agent. Ambroxol acts as secretolytic agent used in the treatment of respiratory diseases associated with viscid or excessive mucus. Levosalbutamol is a beta 2-Adrenergic Agonist. Guaiphenesin is an expectorant that increases respiratory tract fluid secretions and helps loosen phlegm and bronchial secretions.

MECHANISM OF ACTION: Ambroxol facilitates mucociliary clearance by intensifying the motion of the cilia present on the ciliated respiratory epithelium. Levosalbutamol is a short-acting sympathomimetic beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist with bronchodilator activity. Levosalbutamol binds to beta-2 adrenergic receptors in bronchial smooth muscle and activates intracellular adenyl cyclase, an enzyme that converts adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to cyclic-3′,5′-adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). By reducing the viscosity of secretions, Guaiphenesin increases the efficiency of the mucociliary mechanism in removing accumulated secretions from the upper and lower airway. INDICATIONS: Used for treating Bronchitis, Cough, Congestion, and Breathing Illnesses. CONTRAINDICATIONS: Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the formulation. SIDE EFFECTS: Increased heart rate, palpitations, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, vomiting, nausea, sweating, and muscle cramps. DOSAGE: As directed by the physician.
