Composition
Each 5 ml contains:
- Proteolyzed Liver 200 mg (derived from not less than 1.2 g of fresh liver having Vitamin B12 activity equivalent to 0.8 mcg)
- Peptone 200 mg
- Ferric Ammonium Citrate I.P. 53.4 mg (equivalent to 11.48 mg of elemental Iron)
- Folic Acid I.P. 0.17 mg
- In a Syrupy Flavoured Base q.s.
Indications
Indicated in hyperproteinaemia and related conditions, particularly during pregnancy and lactation, post-surgical recovery, childhood growth, convalescence, old age, and other debilitated states associated with nutritional deficiencies.
Storage
Store in a cool place and protect from light. Shake well before use.
Precautions
Use only as directed by the physician. Contraindicated in patients with peptic ulcer, regional enteritis, ulcerative colitis, hemochromatosis, hemosiderosis, hemolytic anaemia, and anaemias other than iron deficiency anaemia. Oral iron may aggravate gastrointestinal disorders such as peptic ulcers and inflammatory bowel conditions. Iron preparations may reduce the absorption of tetracycline antibiotics, while antacids may decrease iron absorption.
