Mechanism of Action. Cefuroxime axetil undergoes hydrolysis by esterase enzymes to convert into its active form, cefuroxime. Cefuroxime inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis following attachment to penicillin binding proteins (PBPs). This results in the interruption of cell wall (peptidoglycan) biosynthesis, which leads to bacterial cell lysis and death. Indications: Torque’s Cfurotor-500 is indicated for lower & upper respiratory tract infection, UTI, gynecological infection, skin or soft tissue infection etc. Dosage: As directed by the physician.
