Torque'S Glimtor Pm2 Tablets

Torque’s Glimtor PM2 Tablets contain Glimepiride, a sulphonylurea antihyperglycaemic agent that acts mainly by stimulating insulin release from pancreatic beta cells; Pioglitazone, a thiazolidinedione antihyperglycaemic agent that acts by reducing insulin resistance; and Metformin, a biguanide with antihyperglycaemic effects that lowers both basal and postprandial plasma glucose.

Composition

Each uncoated bilayered tablet contains:

Glimepiride I.P. 2 mg
Pioglitazone Hydrochloride Eq. to Pioglitazone I.P. 15 mg
Metformin Hydrochloride (as extended release form) I.P. 500 mg
Excipients q.s.

Indications

Indicated for the treatment of type II diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise, and treatment with a single antidiabetic agent do not provide adequate glycemic control.

Storage

Store protected from light & moisture at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.

Precautions

Avoid use in patients with severe renal impairment, metabolic acidosis, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe heart failure, hepatic insufficiency, acute alcohol intoxication, or conditions causing tissue hypoxia. Monitor for hypoglycaemia and signs of lactic acidosis. Use caution with alcohol, iodinated contrast agents, and medicines that may affect blood glucose or renal function.
