DESCRIPTION:
Fexofenadine is an antihistamine that relieves allergy symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes/nose, sneezing, hives, and itching. It works by blocking a certain natural substance (histamine) that your body makes during an allergic reaction. Montelukast Sodium is a selective and orally active leukotriene receptor antagonist that inhibits the cysteinyl leukotriene (CysLT1) receptor.

MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Fexofenadine, an active metabolite of terfenadine, is a competitive peripheral histamine H1-receptor antagonist on effector cells in the GI tract, blood vessels, and respiratory tract. Absorption: absorbed rapidly from the GI tract (oral); peak plasma concentrations after 2-3-hour distribution: enters breast milk. 60-70% bound to plasma proteins. Metabolism: intestinal mucosa (5% of total dose); hepatic (0.5-1.5% of dose). Excretion: mainly via feces, via urine (10% of dose); 14 hr. (elimination half-life; may be prolonged in renal impairment). Montelukast inhibits bronchoconstriction due to antigen challenge. Montelukast is a selective leukotriene receptor antagonist of the cysteinyl leukotriene CysLT1 receptor. The cysteinyl leukotrienes (LTC 4, LTD 4, LTE 4) are arachidonic acid metabolism products released from various cells, including mast cells and eosinophils.

INDICATIONS:
Fexotor-M Tablet is an anti-allergic medicine used to relieve allergic rhinitis characterized by watery eyes, runny or blocked nose, itching, sneezing, and hives (skin rash).

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Renal impairment. Pregnancy, Lactation; Children <6 years.

SIDE EFFECTS:
Cough, fever, or stomach upset may occur. Tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly if any of these effects persist or worsen.

DOSAGE:
As directed by the physician.

STORAGE:
Store protected from moisture at a temperature not exceeding 30oC.
