TOREX COLD & FLU contains an analgesic-antipyretic Paracetamol with decongestant Phenylephrine and an antihistamine Chlorpheniramine Maleate. Paracetamol is a para-aminophenol derivative, that produces antipyresis by acting on the hypothalamic heat-regulating centre and analgesia by elevating the pain threshold. Phenylephrine Hydrochloride is a selective 1-adrenergic receptor agonist used primarily as a decongestant. Chlorpheniramine Maleate an alkylamine derivative is anti-histaminic that causes a moderate degree of sedation. Sodium Citrate is a mucolytic, an agent which breaks down mucus so that coughing up phlegm is easier. Ammonium Chloride is the expectorant that thins mucus. Menthol gives a sensation of coolness.

Dextromethorphan suppresses cough by central action on the cough center in the medulla.

It eases uncomfortable symptoms like a cough or scratchy throat from sinus drainage during a common cold.
