DESCRIPTION:
Liver extract is rich in vital nutrients, including energy-producing B-vitamins and serves as an excellent source of proteins, and is capable of stimulating the production of red blood cells. Peptones are derived from animal milk, or meat digested by proteolytic digestion and are used in nutrient media for growing bacteria and fungi. Iron and ammonium citrate is a food additive with E number E381 used as an acidity regulator. Folic acid is a form of water-soluble vitamin B9 and is a critical factor in synthesizing nucleic acid (DNA & RNA). It is vital for the production of healthy red blood cells.

INDICATIONS :
Hyperproteinaemia and related conditions, especially in pregnancy and lactation, post-surgery, childhood, convalescence, old age, and other debilitated states.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
Peptic ulcer, regional enteritis, ulcerative colitis. Hemochromatosis, hemosiderosis, hemolytic anemia, and all anemias other than iron deficiency.

SIDE EFFECTS:
Iron may cause your stools to turn black, an effect that is not harmful. GI effects can be reduced by taking it with food. These effects are usually temporary and may disappear as your body adjusts to this medication. If these effects persist or worsen, contact your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

PRECAUTIONS:
Oral iron may aggravate peptic ulcers, regional enteritis, and ulcerative colitis.

DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Iron compounds taken orally can impair the absorption of tetracycline antibiotics. Antacids given concomitantly with iron compounds decrease iron absorption.
