Koffgo is a cough relieving formula containing bromhexine, guaiphenesin & chlorpheniramine for stubborn and irritating cough. This combination is antitussive, pectolytic, secretomotor, and mucolytic and acts as an expectorant and bronchospasm reliever. It is used in treating respiratory diseases associated with viscid or excessive mucus. It restores the physiological clearance mechanisms of the respiratory tract, which plays a vital role in the body’s natural defence mechanisms.

MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Bromhexine hydrochloride is a mucolytic agent which liquefies thick, tenacious sputum. The viscosity of sputum is reduced by dissolving mucopolysaccharide fibers. It also improves mucociliary clearance of secretions. Guaifenesin is an expectorant. It increases the output of sputum and bronchial secretions by reducing adhesiveness and surface tension. Increasing the volume of bronchial secretions reduces the viscosity of tenacious sputum. The increased flow of less viscid secretions also promotes ciliary action.
