Iodised Peptone is prepared by enzymatic hydrolysate dipeptide and tripeptide. It contains 22mcg of Iodine in 332mg of Peptone. Iodine increases the storage of the thyroid hormone thyroxine, helping to prevent its release. Peptones are derived from animal milk or meat digested by proteolytic digestion and are used in nutrient media for growing bacteria and fungi.
