Description: Instus-L is a combination of Levodropropizine and Chlorpheniramine Maleate. Levodropropizine (cough suppressant) combined with chlorpheniramine maleate (an antihistamine) helps treat conditions such as dry cough due to various conditions.

Composition: Each 5 ml contains:
Levodropropizine I.P. 30mg
Chlorpheniramine Maleate I.P. 2mg
Excipients q.s.
Mechanism of Action. Levodropropizine belongs to the class of cough suppressants that work by blocking the transmission of nerve signals from the cough centre in the brain to the muscles that produce cough. Chlorpheniramine maleate belongs to the class of antihistamines (anti-allergic drugs) that works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions. Together, Levodropropizine & chlorpheniramine Maleate provides relief from dry cough.
Indications: Instus-L is used to treat dry cough due to various conditions.
Dosage: As directed by the physician.

Contraindications: Instus-L is contraindicated in Patients with known or suspected hypersensitivity to the drug or any of the excipients, during pregnancy and lactation, in patients with severe hepatic failure or renal impairment. It is contraindicated in patients using monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) within the last 14 days or patient with existing condition of Arrhythmia, Epilepsy, Severe hypertension, Cardiovascular disease, Prostate hypertrophy, Liver failure, Glaucoma, Bronchitis, bronchiectasis, asthma & Overactive thyroid dysfunction.
Drug Interactions: Instus-L can cause drug interaction with following drugs:
Anxiolytics or Hypnotics
Antiepileptics
Anticholinergic drugs such as atropine
Tricyclic antidepressants and MAO Inhibitors
Diphenhydramine
Cetirizine
Dextromethorphan
Sertraline
Hydrocodone
Alprazolam
