DESCRIPTION:
Levocetirizine is a third-generation non-sedative antihistamine, developed from the second-generation antihistamine cetirizine. Chemically, Levocetirizine is the active enantiomer of Cetirizine. It is the R-enantiomer of the cetirizine racemate.

COMPOSITION:
Each film-coated tablet contains:

Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride
I.P.
5 mg

MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Levocetirizine works by blocking histamine receptors. It does not prevent the actual release of histamine from mast cells but prevents it from binding to its receptors. This in turn prevents the release of other allergy chemicals and increased blood supply to the area, and provides relief.

INDICATIONS:
Seasonal/allergic rhinitis, chronic urticaria, allergic conjunctivitis, atopic dermatitis, pruritis, adjunct in asthma management.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Contraindicated if the patient is allergic to any ingredient in levocetirizine or to cetirizine, Children 6 months to 11 years of age with impaired renal function.

SIDE EFFECTS:
Slight sleepiness, headache, mouth dryness, lightheadedness.

DOSAGE:
As directed by the physician.

STORAGE:
Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct heat and light.
