Ofloxamac-200 Tablets

Description: Ofloxamac 200 tablet is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase, and used to treat a range of bacterial infections. Pharmaceutical Dosage Form: Tablet Route of Administration: Oral Composition: Each film coated tablet contains: Ofloxacin I.P.                           200 mg Excipients                                 q.s. Colours: Titanium Dioxide I.P. and Tartrazine Mechanism of Action: Ofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone whose primary mechanism of action is inhibition of bacterial DNA gyrase. It has a broad spectrum of activity against aerobic Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, although it is poorly active against anaerobes. Indications: Ofloxamac 200 tablet is commonly used to treat various bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and certain sexually transmitted infections. Dosage: As prescribed by the physician. Storage: Store protected from light and moisture. Presentation: 20 x 10 tablets Side effects: Nausea Headache Dizziness Itching Insomnia Rashes Contraindications: Ofloxamac 200 tablet is contraindicated in patients with a history of quinolone-associated hypersensitivity reactions, myasthenia gravis, and prolonged QTc interval. Drug Interactions: Ofloxamac 200 tablet should not be taken with the following medicines due to severe side effects – Bepridil Cisapride Dronedarone Levoketoconazole Mesoridazine Pimozide Piperaquine Thioridazine Precautions: Ofloxamac 200 tablet should be used with caution in patients with a history of tendon disorders, seizures, or those with certain pre-existing conditions.
