MECHANISM OF ACTION:Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that suppresses gastric acid secretion by specific inhibition of the H+/K+-ATPase in the gastric parietal cell. By acting specifically on the proton pump, Omeprazole blocks the final step in acid production, thus reducing gastric acidity.INDICATIONS:Indicated for hyperacidity and GERD (gastro-oesophagal Reflux Disease).CONTRAINDICATIONS:Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to substituted benzimidazoles or to any ingredient of the formulation.DRUG INTERACTIONS:Elimination of escitalopram and warfarin may increase if they are used concomitantly with omeprazole. Omeprazole has the potential to partly inhibit the metabolism of drugs metabolised to a great extent by the cytochrome P450 enzyme (phenytoin, diazepam).SIDE EFFECTS:Omimac-40 is well tolerated. Nausea, headache, diarrhoea, constipation, stomach pain, flatulence have been reported occasionally.DOSAGE:As prescribed by the physician.DIRECTIONS FOR USE:Omeprazole capsules should preferably be taken in the morning before food.Omeprazole capsules should be swallowed whole and not opened, chewed or crushed.STORAGE:Store below 25℃, Protected from moisture and light.PRESENTATION:10×10 capsules in a cardboard carton
