MECHANISM OF ACTION:By binding to specific penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located inside the bacterial cell wall, it inhibits the third and last stage of bacterial cell wall synthesis. Cell lysis is then mediated by bacterial cell wall autolytic enzymes such as autolysins; it is possible that cephalexin interferes with an autolysin inhibitor. It is effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative organisms.INDICATIONS:Cephalexin is used to treat infections caused by bacteria, including upper respiratory infections, ear infections, skin infections, and urinary tract infections.CONTRAINDICATIONS:Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of this medicine.SIDE-EFFECTS:Nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, mild skin rash, headache, joint pain, and tiredness.DRUG INTERACTIONS:Warfarin (coumadin), metformin (fortamet) or probenecid (benemid).DOSAGE:As directed by the physician.STORAGE:Store at room temperature, away from light.PRESENTATION:30ml bottleBARCODE:010890604410724301189060441072400128906044107247
