Pantomac-D contains Pantoprazole which is a substituted benzimidazole proton pump inhibitor and Domperidone is an antidopaminergic agent.
Pantoprazole Sodium Sesquihydrate
Eq. to Pantoprazole
MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Pantoprazole inhibits the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme, which is responsible for gastric acid secretion in the parietal cells of the stomach and irreversibly blocks the final step of acid secretion. It increases the motility of the GI tract by inhibiting the action of dopamine and fastens gastric emptying. Domperidone stimulates GI activity by acting as a competitive antagonist at the dopamine D2-receptor.
Dyspepsia and Gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD).
Pantoprazole is contraindicated in hepatic impairment; hypersensitivity. Domperidone is contraindicated in the history of hypersensitivity to dimenhydrinate or related compounds.
